Job Description

Consult are proud to be supporting one of the leading Ophthalmic care providers in the UK. Our client is looking for a Registered Scrub Nurse that is primarily focused on delivering exceptionally high standards of patient care.If youre a Nurse with theatre experience, our client offers training and development, their primary focus is finding an individual that delivers on their professional and clinical values of providing the highest standards of Ophthalmic care.The successful candidate will additionally provide skilled clinical and technical support and assistance to the operating theatre team, pre and post-op. This is an opportunity to work with an industry leading specialist.Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, by provision or appropriate surgical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Use clinical judgement and analytical skills to pro-actively identify potential problems, with special regard for surgical instrumentation, turn around times for decontamination and sterilisation of reusable items
  • Provide effective hand over of key information to recovery staff to facilitate safe and effective discharge of the patient.
  • Ensure effective communication is maintained with patients, relatives, carers, visitors, staff and others, in a manner that is consistent with their level of understanding, culture and background, seeking advice and assistance when appropriate.
About You:
  • Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
  • Current NMC/ HCP registration
  • Awareness of responsibilities in relation to NMC Professional Code of Conduct
  • Awareness of role of CQC
