School LibrarianSeptember 2022Part time with a potential to increase to full time.Temporary with the opportunity of a permanent contract for the right person£75 -£85 per day.I am working with a secondary school in Birmingham looking to recruit a librarian to join the team. They are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent customer care skills and a can-do attitude to work in a busy and sometimes demanding learning environment.The successful candidate will place learners at the centre of all of their work supporting learners with a wide range of needs and abilities. They will have the ability to encourage collaborative learning styles as well as actively ensuring that learnersalso have a quiet place to study.An active interest in digital technologies and new developments in technologies and learning is encouraged. An ability to communicate and enthuse learners to use certain digital platforms and online learning is also welcome.As well as encouraging digital capabilities, the successful candidate will also work in print environments, preparing and tidying book stock and ensuring that key texts remain accessible, orderly and attractive to learners. A detailed knowledge of stockand learner needs is expected to develop in time. Similarly, a concern for the physical environment of the library is also a necessity in order to ensure that the learner experience is maximised.This role will require someone with experience of working in a library ideally in an education setting.For more information or to apply please contact Hannah Innis at Empowering Learning.
