Job Description

GEODIS - National Sales ManagerReporting to the Sales Director, the National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible managing the New Business Sales team within the UK. The NSM will be responsible for the yearly new business targets and KPIs set by the business to ensure the company achieves the revenue targets at the required % margin. The NSM is also responsible for promoting the whole portfolio of Geodis UK Distribution &Express products which include FTL/LTL. European Road, Logistics solutions and UK Pallet distribution, targeting and building a pipeline based around new business opportunities within the branch network. Key Activities / Accountabilities Across all Geodis UK Branches:-

  • Manage and develop a team of New business sales people within the UK to exceed company targets
  • Coach and mentor the team where necessary ensuring all KPIs are met
  • Be part of the Senior Management team in Geodis UK and represent the Sales department at any key meetings
  • Manage a variety of new business opportunities that have either been created by the central marketing team or have been self-generated.
  • Generate and qualify new business opportunities, by using their sales skills, planning and relationship management whilst using commercial acumen.
  • Meet and exceed new business sales targets, in revenue and gross profit.
  • Ensure activity is recorded in the CRM system accurately and against agreed standards and timescales
  • Develop relationships across the Company Business Units, whilst at the same time identifying opportunities that will contribute to the sales target.
  • Collaborate and network with UK Operations, UK Sales and Customer Services colleagues to ensure new client onboarding is seamless.
  • Drive the Mission, Vision and Values and 7 Golden Rules strategy into the regional Customer Service team to provide direction and set behavioural standards within the work environments and to our customers
  • Work in partnership and collaboratively with all Head Office functions to support operational efficiencies. Adhere to and respect policies and processes that are in place.

  • PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Experience and Knowledge
  • Managing a New Business Sales team
  • Coaching and mentoring a sales team to achieve targets as well as achieving personal set targets
  • Managing poor performance
  • Setting targets and KPIs
  • Able to interact with all levels of contacts within small, medium and large customers
  • Previous experience within the logistics industry
  • Highly motivated
