Job Description

RPG Analyst ProgrammerOur client, a distribution organisation based in the Birmingham area have an opportunity for a Permanent RPG Analyst Programmer to join their team. Reporting to the Head of IT the role is responsible for delivering new and current process change requestswithin an ERP environment. Areas of change will cover all aspects of, but not limited to:

  • Supply Chain
  • Sales order processing
  • Warehouse management
  • Logistics
  • Finance
Role responsibilities:
  • Working closely with business sponsors, this role will be responsible for clarifying and documenting requirements and liaising with technical staff to ensure the delivery of the solution.
  • Obtaining business sponsor signoff for the solution and ensuring smooth implementations
  • Discuss and determine the business requirements with users
  • Obtain agreement on documented requirements by the business
  • Define a technical specification detailing the deliverables required.
  • Develop code to meet requirements and unit test
  • Test the end 2 end solution and obtain the solution sign off
Skills experience:
  • Experience in an ERP supply chain environment
  • Good communications skills, to be able discuss and understand the requirements provided from all levels of the business from director level down
  • To have an analytical mindset to be able to translate business requirements into technical deliverables and able to test solutions provided
  • Technical knowledge of an AS400 environment including RPG, Query and SQL Any experience of EDI packages would also be an advantage
