Job Description

Romanian-speaking Learning Support Assistant Required in HandsworthAre you a bilingual LSA who is fluent in both written and spoken English and RomanianAre you looking for a new challenge to stimulate youDo you have a passion for working with children who are unfamiliar with the English Language and are newly settled in the UK If so, this may be the position for you!A wonderful 3-form entry primary school in the Handsworth area of Birmingham are looking for a Romanian-speaking, compassionate and hardworking LSA to work within Key Stage 2 to support a couple of children in the class who require additional support, dueto having English as an Additional Language. The school are keen to find someone who has previous experience in working with children in a similar situation.The role is a full-time long term position, starts immediately and will continue up until the end of the academic year. There is also the potential for a permanent role for the ideal person, as there are a vast number of children across the school who requireEAL support.You will have excellent communication skills and will be an adaptable, organised individual who is excellent at taking direction as well as using your own initiative. You will be a team player and someone who will be invested in the improvement of childrenslearning experience.What youll need:

  • Minimum of Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Ability to speak Romanian fluently
  • Experience in working with children who have EAL needs
  • Previous experience in a school setting, voluntary experience is welcome
  • To be an excellent role model
  • Driving is not essential but is desirable
