Job Description

Are you an experienced Risk Service Consultant, with experience of providing Risk Services advice, guidance and on-site consultancy support and are seeking a new opportunity in the UK If so, we have this brilliant opportunity available working for a highlyrespected Insurance Brokerage.Our client has a fantastic city centre office base in Birmingham; however, you can be based anywhere in England, travelling will be an essential part of the job.Key responsibilities include: To provide Risk Services advice, guidance, and on-site consultancy support to a variety of clients in the UK and to assist the Director in the success of the Risk Services division and achievement of the annual Risk Services income budget.Working in a team of Risk Service consultants with the Risk Services Director to support clients within the education and charity sector, with some commercial clients.Duties and responsibilities:Conducting business:

  • Complete H&S Audits of client’s business and produce reports in line with the service level agreements set by the division, having regard for the practical solutions and to provide income for the Risk Services division.
  • Provide advice and guidance on H&S and Business Continuity matters to clients via telephone and/or email in line with the service level agreements set by the division.
  • Co-ordinate with internal staff on new leads, opportunities, client proposals
  • Support Client executives in the sale of Risk Services products and services including meetings with new prospects and existing clients.
  • Attend client meetings to ascertain risk services requirements and produce Risk Services proposals based on client needs and expectations.
  • Complete Fire Risk Assessments of client premises in line with the service level agreements set by the division.
  • Provide on-site consultancy support for clients in line with quoted Risk Services proposals (e.g. assistance with developing/implementing H&S policies, procedures, safe systems of work, risk assessments, COSHH assessments etc.)
  • Attend conferences/events etc. upon request to promote the Risk Services division and its services.
  • Undertaking in-house and/or external training in line with the requirements of the business and the specific role
  • Demonstrating innovative ideas based on industry activities/trends and keep abreast of developments in H&S and industry best practice.
  • Regular (as determined by the Director) contact with the Risk Services team via in person meetings, Teams calls, telephone contact and monthly one-to-one’ in person meetings with Director to review progress through your PDR.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Supporting the Directors in the achievement of the annual budget for Risk Services
  • Provide feedback to assist Directors with annual budget forecasting.
  • Maintaining service standards as set within the team.
  • Achieving high levels of client retention and renewal of fees
Essential Criteria:
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management/IFE Fire Risk Register Approved Course (or willingness to undertake)
  • Member of IOSH
  • Familiar with leading and developing Business Continuity Plans
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Professional and approachable
  • Good presentation skills, with experience of presenting to clients/colleagues/senior management.
  • Organised and accurate with a forward planning approach
  • Excellent client focus, including the ability to manage potentially contentious interactions with varying negotiation strategies.
  • Highest degree of ethics and integrity in client focus
  • Ability to travel (full UK driving licence)
  • Experience of working within the insurance sector
  • Experience of using Salesforce
