Job Description

Register your interest for our Event Security Management positions!Are you an Event Security Management professionalDo you want to be part of the biggest global event ever to be held in the West MidlandsIf so, Birmingham 2022 are looking to recruit multiple Event Security Managers.Working collaboratively with the Head of Venue Security and the wider team you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the security planning for designated venues across the West Midlands region, as well as conducting risk analysis andleading the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.These roles are due to start from January 2022.   • Manage the Security team and ensure the security deliverables are met at the venue, by liaising with the other Venue team members, the wider Security Functional Area and external security stakeholders;
  • Review and implement the venue operational plans, covering venue security workforce schedules and security deliverables;
  • Manage and be the key point of contact for all aspects of operations for the allocated venue;
  • Implement appropriate venue installation & decommission plans with a focus on security equipment and venue asset protection;
  • Manage venues Security Workforce and their successful outputs, ensuring that the required training has been provided to the team;
  • Ensure the workforce understands and implements the policies and procedures for the effective operations of the Security function during Birmingham 2022;
  • Work closely with West Midlands Police and other Birmingham 2022 Partners in the implementation of the venue operational security plan for the Games.
Key Skills & Experience Required
  • Recognised expertise, credibility, and leadership in Security planning with direct practical experience of high profile and/or high threat events;
  • Competent and experienced in translating multiple client requirements into security operations;
  • Proven experience utilising exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to project manage and resolve issues at a senior level;
  • Direct practical experience of providing technical/operational Security expertise to venues housing and supporting major sports or equivalent events;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a complex workforce, including a large contractor and volunteer workforce;
  • Proven skills and experience in analysing and acting on potential conflicts of interest in relation to interactions with other security stakeholders and, particularly, in relation to commercial providers and contractors;
  • A good understanding of major UK security operators and providers.
