Job Description

Operations ManagerPermanent | Midlands£40,000 P/A plus Car Allowance (£2400 P/A) & BenefitsSmart Environmental Support Services Division are pleased to be recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our team in the MidlandsThe RoleThe Operations Manager is responsible for partnering and supporting the Business Area Manager with the effectively management of a team in order that they can deliver a high standard of service to contract within the Midlands Area. In addition to maintainingservice delivery, revenue streams should be maximised and costs controlled closely. There is real focus on continuous improvement, delivering on contractual KPI’s and building strong relationships with clients and ensuring that all Smart Solutions’ policiesand procedures are adhered to at all times. A key part of the role is to deliver on the technical aspect of the service that is waste-specific’, ensuring that added value is achieved. Key Duties
  • To maintain excellent relationships with clients
  • Partnering with the Business Area Manager to support the growth of the business
  • Supervise and support Senior Account Managers and Account Managers to ensure performance expectations are achieved
  • Drive continuous improvement and communicate with clients across all sites to resolve issues and queries
  • Generate innovative ideas to improve the workplace
  • Drive best practice within Smart Solutions
  • Attend and support operational meetings with the reporting team and clients
  • Control area costs
  • Deliver on contractual KPI’s
  • Support on the training and development of the reporting team
  • Champion flexible employee compliance standards
  • Adhere to H&S legislation and responsibilities
  • Regularly audit site compliance, operational and technical performance; conduct site walks to review operational performance of sort line operatives, lead operatives and team leaders
  • Carry out mobilisation activity as delegated by the mobilisation manager
  • Plan contingency support for annual leave and additional absence periods
Experience & Qualifications Required
  • Recruiting and labour supply experience is essential
  • 3+ years as a people manager.
  • Experience of high-volume, industrial, manufacturing or waste Recruitment
  • ILM Level 3 (Leadership Course) or equivalent is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft 365 apps
  • Strong motivational and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding team building and coaching skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
