Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our Birmingham branch, playing a crucial role in enhancing the commercial performance of our operations in the region. As a key member, you will collaborate with Operations,Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure the profitability of allocated projects. Your responsibilities will include accurate estimation, reporting, and execution of project scopes within budget, along with comprehensive quantity surveying and cost management.Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Performance: Lead the commercial function of the Birmingham branch, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and management of commercial risks while complying with corporate governance requirements.
  • Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring strict compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Resolve any contractual disputes that may arise.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage potential risks and issues, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, providing exceptional customer service. Negotiate contract amendments with customers.
  • Document Vetting: Vet tender and contract documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Debtor Days Management: Effectively manage branch debtor days to optimize financial performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educational Background: BA (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying/Business Management or equivalent.
  • Industry Experience: Strong commercial awareness and experience within the Construction industry.
  • Negotiation and Risk Management: Demonstrated skills in contract negotiation and risk management.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Office systems (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Scaffolding and Site Practice: Knowledge of scaffolding and site practices is a plus.
