Job Description

One of the UKs leading Property Developers is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join their thriving Birmingham team.The Quantity Surveyor Role This Quantity Surveyor position will see you become an integral part of a vibrant team of 18 stationed in the heart of Birmingham. Your primary role will be to serve as the right-hand person to the Head of Cost Planning, directly contributing to the oversightof all pre contract developments across the group.As the incoming Quantity Surveyor, youll be entrusted with steering projects from inception to completion. This includes managing new phases of ongoing developments, initiating new projects, and conducting viability assessments primarily within a cost planningcapacity. Your responsibilities will encapsulate tendering, measurements, cost planning, pricing, and procurement.With an extensive array of exciting multi-phase projects and thousands of units awaiting in the pipeline, the role promises a stimulating work environment. The division champions a flexible and hybrid working arrangement, requiring office presence for 1-2days a week.The ideal Quantity Surveyor may come from either a consultancy or developer background as the Head of Cost Planning is committed to providing mentorship on the nuances of cost planning. This position offers a rare gateway to enhance your sector expertisewithin a globally recognised development company, coupled with exceptional prospects for career advancement into the Head of Cost Planning role in the long run.The Quantity Surveyor

  • Experience working with a Developer or Consultancy
  • A strong background in the Residential sector - ideally multimillion pound developments
  • A HNC or relevant degree qualification is beneficial
  • Pre contract experience or the desire to work in a cost planning role
