Job Description

Quality Inspector required for a manufacturing company, based in Birmingham.The successful quality engineer will need to be responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet all customers drawing requirements.Quality Inspector Position Overview

  • Help support calibration of lab equipment to sustain ISO 9001 and UKAS 17025 accreditation.
  • Work with the Production Manager and Quality Lead to schedule work through the department, reducing bottlenecks wherever necessary.
  • Support 5 why investigations with support of the Quality Coordinator.
  • Perform regular quality checks of components using electronic measuring equipment (Klingenbergs and CMMs), length measuring equipment plus various slips and gauge blocks.
  • Capture accurate times associated with the quality processes by logging on and off individual work pieces.
  • Contribute and support the Quality Lead in making the inspection lab more efficient and streamline processes wherever possible.
  • Reading technical drawings and quality procedures to comprehend the quality expectations for the product.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and report any that doesnt meet requirements.
  • Raise any areas of concern regarding quality performance with the Quality Lead and management team.
  • Capture measurements accurately and record results.
Quality Inspector Position Requirements
  • Previous experience and qualifications within a quality inspector position / skill.
  • Utilize various aspects of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Applicants with a background within; Metrology, Automotive or Aerospace mass inspection industries - encouraged to apply.
  • Experienced in the use of gear analysing equipment would be considered for the role.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Birmingham, West Midlands.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Quality Inspector Position Remuneration
  • Salary - around £26,000 to £28,000 per year (13phr to 14phr) - dependent upon skill, experience and qualifications.
  • Full time working position.
  • 25 days holiday package + the 8 bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Performance related bonus.
