JOB DESCRIPTION: Quality Assurance ManagerLOCATION: BIRMINGHAM, B37SALARY: £25,000 - £30,000 (pa)Mon-Fri (08:30am - 17:00pm)Reporting To: Managing DirectorPurpose:The core role of the Quality Assurance Manager is to oversee, develop and manage the quality structure of the business and to support all other functions in delivering the highest standard of product and service to the customer base, ensuring complianceto BRC and any other applicable Quality Standardsz.This role involves but is not limited to: Act as first point of contact for all quality matters.Investigate and report, within agreed timescales, on all quality-related issues raised by customers and internal colleagues, utilising Root Cause Analysis and any other appropriate methods.Promoting and enforcing good quality practises and hygiene standards. Conduct quality inspection rounds during the designated shifts including random product sampling.Recording and storage of production samples.Conduct where appropriate, testing of materials and goods.Conduct where appropriate, calibration and verification of equipment.Assess raw material issues and manage supplier claims in a timely manner.Conduct internal audits to BRC, and standards as relevant.Conduct monthly hygiene and housekeeping audits.Conduct monthly glass and brittle materials audits.Conduct environmental discharge compliance testing.Respond to internal and external communications in a timely manner, liaising with relevant departments to ensure responses are technically accurate.Assist with traceability and withdrawal exercises.Maintain quality department files and records.Conduct training and develop the workforce ethos in regard to BRC Standards. Conduct various tasks in accordance with BRC.Perform other duties as directed by the Production DirectorRequirements: Internal audit trained.Experience with BRC standards an advantage.Previous quality experience in FMCG environment (ideally print and/or packaging).Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.Excellent attention to detailCompany core values:
