Job Description

Job Title: Purchase Ledger AssistantLocation: Birmingham Working Pattern: Full Time, Office Based 0900- 1730Salary: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour Contract: Temporary sickness cover (4 weeks, could be longer)Must be available to start Friday 26th JanuaryAbout You:

  • Previous Purchase Ledger Experience
  • Knowledge of Sage / Pegasus
  • Must be able to hit the ground running
Position Overview:As a Purchase Ledger Clerk you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth processing of invoices and payments.The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently process and code supplier invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding invoice and payment enquiries, fostering positive relationships.
  • Accurately input financial data into the accounting system, maintaining up-to-date and organised records.
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as required to support the overall financial function of the company.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience within a purchase ledger role.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software sage / Pegasus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
