Job Description

As part of the Transport UK Group, West Midlands Trains delivers around 1,300 train journeys a day, for more than 60 million passengers a year, across our two brands - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, by investing in our fleet of trains, stations and employees. As part of this investment, we are looking to recruit a Property Project Engineer/Work Stream Lead, on a full-time, permanent basis.This role is key in managing property projects and being the technical M&E expert in stakeholder meetings.What does the role involve

  • Overseeing and project managing infrastructure and property maintenance/refurbishment contracts
  • Handover of completed work to the BAU maintenance teams
  • Manage contractors onsite and ensuring site safety is maintained at all times
  • Managing teams of electrical and mechanical contractors
  • Assisting in the creation of specification and scoping documents, as well as technical designs
  • Reviewing and approving risk/method statements of third-party suppliers
  • Monitoring and reporting project progress and working closely with other Project Managers
What skills and experience do I need to do the job
  • Previous practical experience of managing infrastructure and M&E projects
  • Experience of managing on-site contractors
  • Solid Microsoft Office applications experience
  • Influencing abilities - both within the business and also with external stakeholders
  • Experience ideally gained as a site supervisor/manager
  • Qualified in electrical, mechanical or construction engineering
  • An ability to work to a set framework and standard
  • Be an excellent communicator - able to flex your style accordingly
