Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Manager/Project Manager to work in our Design & Shopfitting division, who is passionate about their role in offering excellent service and standards to our customers. We are looking for someonewho is motivated, personable, and able to work on own initiative and also as part of our larger team.The role:To manage business development activities for the company that drive sales activities and the acquisition of new business. To be the customers key point of contact for the development of their business, providing best advice on the available options for equipmentand finishes. Produce Programs of Work that are cost effective and limit disruption to trading activities, whilst ensuring agreed objectives are achieved in respect of the scope of works and Health and Safety. Prepare project quotations that meet the retailbrief for presentation to the customer. Ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget.Some Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure an agreed number of target projects are contractually signed in each quarter.
  • Agree with the customer the scope of works and budget for each project.
  • Provide the customer with a clear understanding of the available equipment options, finishes and cost implications.
  • Complete detailed store surveys, to include a scope of works and Programs of Work for each project.
  • Provide the customer with a comprehensive presentation of the proposal explaining the key decisions taken.
  • Obtain properly signed orders, ensuring lead times and Programs of Work are included within the BDS contract.
  • Identify labour, equipment, material, and time requirement by producing relevant documents.
  • Organise and attend contractor meetings to ensure accurate costs are obtained.
Key Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
  • 5 x GCSE (A-C)
  • A valid drivers licence.
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed site surveys.
  • A knowledge of retail store design & layout principles.
  • Knowledge of different computer software & CAD packages.
  • Experience of project management & delivering to timescales and budgets.
  • A knowledge of statutory and legal requirements including Building Regulations and Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
