Job Description

Role: Project ManagerSalary: £50,000Location: Birmingham & Castle DoningtonType: 12 Month Fixed Term ContractOverview2fawcett are recruiting for a Special Project Manager working on a fixed term contract from September 2021 to September 2022. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly skilled project delivery team. This role is key to the safe and efficient deliveryof this prestigious project.As Special Projects Manager, you will work alongside various departments & committees to understand and facilitate a number of special projects that form part of the final delivery and overlay requirements. The role will focus on two dedicated sites as partof the project - Birmingham and Castle Donington.This role calls for strong construction focused experience. With such a large multi-site project, there will also be an significant amount of reporting internally and to the Organising Committee.The Role & Responsibilities of the Project Manager

  • Work with the Organising Committee to establish special project requirements for two dedicated venues.
  • Provide detail to the project scheduler to support the input of accurate information
  • Manage Bill of Quantities and individual site budgets
  • Manage the Organising Committee on change processes including updating the BOQ
  • Support Project Director in reporting information requirements
  • Oversee the venue managers on their objectives and day to day responsibilities
  • Work with the Principal designer on venue layout
  • Coordinate with the H&S project lead
  • Meet pre agreed Organising Committee and internal GL events milestones including the involvement of planning requirements
  • Lead on special project meetings
  • Manage sub-contractor delivery
Requirements of the Project Manager
  • Civil / Structural Engineering background
  • NEC3 / NEC4
  • Proficiency in the use of project scheduling software MS project
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Good working ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality
  • Able to efficiently use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of event infrastructure and how to co-ordinate its delivery
  • Awareness of health and safety best working practice
  • Prince 2 / APM project management training
  • Must hold a clean, valid driving licence
  • Flexible and able to travel frequently
  • Construction experience
