Job Description

The Role At VolkerWessels UK people come first. Joining us means joining one of the UKs largest multidisciplinary engineering and construction contractors, delivering a vast breadth of innovative projects, and offering endless opportunities to grow.As a Project Manager you will steer our site operations team and youll be key to the successful delivery of a Station Upgrade Fit Out project in Birmingham.The appointed candidate will be comfortable taking financial and operational accountability, as well as technically capable, commercially aware, and able to inspire and influence those around them. Key Accountabilities

  • To represent the company in the delivery of projects.
  • To receive instruction on behalf of the company.
  • To issue instruction and provide direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects assigned to the PM by Senior Management.
  • Deliver the works safely
  • Build, develop, support, and maintain the team.
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with the client and all external parties.
  • Develop the Tender Programme into a construction programme.
  • Monitor progress with up-to-date programmes so that timely clear direction can be given to the team on critical construction/financial targets.
  • Development, Management and Maintenance of Construction Phase Plan
  • Identify and evaluate risks, determine, and manage actions, maintain Risk Register
  • Manage and control changes to scope, requirements, personnel etc.
  • Monitor progress against cost plans, programmes, and quality/environmental plans
  • Manage stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and protect our subcontractor relationships
  • Manage the design
  • Contribute to our recognition within the industry
  • Prepare and present project reports
  • Liaise with line management re: approvals and decisions at key stages
  • Prepare and maintain project information
Skills & Experience
  • Proven technical and project management abilities
  • Strong organisational and management skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
  • Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work
  • Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment
  • Sufficient experience required in construction.
  • PTS
  • CITB SMTS or equivalent
  • Temporary Works Co-ordinator
