Job Description

Project Engineer-Manufacturing Sector£30-38K plus pension, 38 hour week, 23 days holiday and free parkingBirmingham, Midlands-Commutable from Walsall, West Bromwich, Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Dudley, Lichfield, CannockAre you an Project Engineer with manufacturing experience looking for a challenging, very varied and exciting position with a client facing organisation.The client is expanding into exciting new markets and have traditionally had very low staff turnover, always a good sign of a well-run company.The position will be to interpret and understand client requirements, design the solutions, procure materials, manufacture samples/prototypes (CNC), make adjustments and handle quality issues.These are primarily fibre telecoms cabinet and data rack layouts. Therefore it would suit a mechanical engineer who also has a sound understanding of electrical/electronic engineering.Tasks will include:

  1. Speak to customers in order to understand requirements and manage expectations
  2. Design cabinet and data rack components using Solidworks
  3. Hands on machining tasks to make samples
  4. Handle quality issues -PFMEA and ISIR
To apply you should have:
  1. A time served /academic background within manufacturing, including a sound understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  2. Experience of 3D CAD design
  3. Experience of using a variety of tool room machinery/CNC milling experience
