Job Description

Job Title Project Engineer Location Birmingham Corporate Title Assistant Vice President The Corporate Bank (CB) Technology Production organisation strives to ensure our IT environment is stable, reliable and proactively managed to prevent issues and minimize impact should they occur. To support this and ensure efficient execution, we are bringing together our Project Management and Business Management disciplines to strengthen our strategic delivery. Reporting into the Programme, Project and Business Management Lead, you will be a proactive self- starter and excellent problem solver who is comfortable dealing with a high level of complexity and working to tight deadlines, with expertise across both projectmanagement and business management skillsets. You will liaise with numerous stakeholders and responsibilities will cover project support and governance, people management processes, financials and communications. Your key responsibilities
  • All programme, project governance and support of Production book of work including benefits case definition and tracking, delivery roadmap, risk and issue management, support of steering forums, and hands-on project delivery for large scale change projects.
  • Drive improved engagement with Agile Quarterly Business process to deliver high priority items to ensure continued stability of the Production environment.
  • Communications - planning and coordination of Corporate Bank wide collaboration events for 500+ participants (including identification of suitable topics), and preparation and coordination of quarterly townhall sessions.
  • Preparation for, and coordination of, key people processes, including talent reviews, performance and reward processes.
  • Support annual budget process for both Run and Change the Bank budgets, and support any cost management exercises as required.
  • Support planning and coordination of regular strategy days for the CB Technology Production management team
Your skills and experience
  • Comprehensive experience of project management, or PMO support and governance, for IT enabled business change projects with relevant certification preferred (e.g. Prince 2, PMP, CSM or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience of budget, headcount and people management processes.
  • Background in IT in large corporate environments within Financial Services industry, and experience working within the area of controlled production environments would be highly beneficial.
  • ITIL / best practice service context (ITIL Foundation Certificate preferred).
  • Technical skills: Expertise in Microsoft 365 suite is a necessity (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word); experience of Clarity project portfolio management software and Workday ERP highly beneficial.
  • Capabilities: Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong proactive mindset and the ability to effectively communicate with and positively influence diverse stakeholders and team members
