Job Description

Project EngineerPermanent PositionExcellent salary/package (Holiday: 25 days + 8 Statutory Days, Pension up to 8% matched, Life Assurance: 5x Basic Salary)Growing Manufacturing BusinessBirminghamMy client are a precision manufacturing business based in Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components.The Project Engineer role is responsible for the management and coordination of Engineeringworkload, planning, capacity and resource management, and export control to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time and within the given constraints.Project Engineer Job Description

  • Coordinating and scheduling the Engineering workflow throughout the department.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and allocate resources. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Support the end-to-end Engineering process (from bid winning/business development through to product manufacture, assembly, and test).
  • Support the Engineering team with new enquiries.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks. Identify contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Stakeholder management – communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Generate regular status reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects meet legal and industry-specific requirements, including export regulations.
  • Manage and present Engineering KPIs.
Project Engineer Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (technical, planning, project management, etc)
  • A qualification (or membership) with a Project Management institution is preferable (APM, PRINCE2, etc).
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a Project Engineer/Management function
    • Expertise in Project Management tools such as MS Project, Primavera etc.
    • Previous experience of complex, technical projects or packages of work.
    • Ability to create and manage live plans for all Engineering tasks and workload.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with the Project Management function, and Operations Planning function.
    • Customer and stakeholder interactions.
