Your new roleProgramme PlannerHere at National Highways, we have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Planner to join our Major Projects directorate across the East Region.The Programme Planner will play a leading role in supporting the Regional Programme and Project teams in managing scheduling updates and assuring supplier information. You will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that programme information is producedin line with the required standards and is of the highest quality. You will report back to key stakeholders on performance and provide recommendations to support and enhance the project journey.National Highways operate hybrid and flexible working practices. Therefore, this role could be delivered from home, but applicants should be prepared to travel to Bedford and/or Birmingham offices 2-3 times per month for key stakeholder and business meetings.What you will be leading onEstablishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders such as project teams and supply chain. Engage with the supply chain to ensure planning and scheduling processes and best practices are being applied and adhered to in the submissionof programmes.Gain a full understanding of baseline project control framework products and handbooks to provide advice and guidance on monthly reporting requirements and provide technical support to the teams.Creating and maintaining programme plans that are of a high quality, logic, format and content to enable robust interrogation and can support informed decision making at project and programme level.Engage with Project Controls managers, risk and cost colleagues to support monthly programme integration, forecasting activities and data alignment. Enabling credible monthly reporting for the programme through data quality assurance.Develop and enhance monthly reporting to advise on programme status, performance and the anticipated achievement of milestone dates. Provide recommendations to mitigate potential programme delays and support in the identification of risks and opportunities.Drive the change identification process, ensuring that it is aligned to documented processes and the required governance is applied to ensure that all required changes to baseline are managed effectively, communicated and documented.To be successful you will have:Experience in a project and/or programme environment.Demonstrable planning and scheduling experience with knowledge and practical application of Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.Great presentation skills with the ability to provide stakeholders with project updates.Data analysis experience with demonstrable evidence of interrogating project programmes and providing recommendations for mitigation actions to support improvements to the delivery of milestones.Excellent stakeholder management experience and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.A bit about usThe Regional Investment Programme (RIP) develops and delivers junction improvements, bypasses, projects of National significance and major infrastructure projects.
