Job Description

Role Summary The role of Production Manager is to oversee the smooth running and organisation of my clients productions. You will tap into your list of reliable contacts to crew up all projects, and set them up for success. You will also take responsibility for driving compliance, cost deficiencies, and improvements to the production process across Branded Productions.ResponsibilitiesAs Production Manager, you will:

  • Source and liaise with the Production Crew including Producers, Videographers, Production Assistants, Gaffers, Sound Technicians, DOPs etc.
  • Strive to improve cost eficiencies on Video Productions
  • Ensure Production Teams are adequately resourced at all times by maintaining excellent communication with the New Business and Client Services Teams
  • Build on your existing network of reliable Production contacts in the West Midlands
  • On-going management of Crew contracts, making sure that they are managed efficiently, compliantly, and that the terms are adhered to by all parties
  • Manage budget expenditure for certain areas of the yearly production budget, including kit and software
  • Ensure that all productions comply with Health & Safety, copyright law, and insurance terms.
  • Support and up skill the Production Teams in the creation of production documents, including Risk Assessments and call sheets
  • Manage the off boarding of Production Crew, ensuring they have returned all company property, passwords, etc.
  • Ensure our insurance policy for Video Production is fit for purpose and understood by all members of the Production Team
  • Promote a high performance culture within the Branded Production Teams
  • Closely collaborate and communicate with the Head of Branded Production, Client Services, and New Business Teams to ensure we are well-equipped to fulfil client demands at all times
  • Provide summary reports in relation to resourcing and expenditure
    • THE PERSON
  • Excellent working knowledge of video production and roles within video production
  • Detailed understanding of legal compliance issues for Video Production and insurance in relation to video production
  • A network of freelance production contacts in the West Midlands
  • Substantial experience in TV or film, in-depth understanding of the production process, and a network of contacts in the industry
  • Experience of managing teams and crews
  • Experience of managing multiple work streams at once
  • Able to organise your time and workload well
  • Excellent budgeting and accounting skills
  • Extremely thorough and pays attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and support a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adopts a pragmatic approach and uses initiative to overcome challenges (or potential challenges)
  • To be flexible and open to change
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Enjoys working in a creative, collaborative environment
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and hard-working, with an approach that no job is too small
