Job Description

Role Introduction Are you a passionate, committed, and enthusiastic Product Owner or Business Analyst who wants to work for one of the largest software and solutions businesses in the UK Advanced is looking for a Product Owner, working on our latest platform solution: MyWorkplace.This role will be responsible for the MyWorkplace framework, working closely with the Head of MyWorkplace & Platform, product management and the wider R&D community to ensure that MyWorkplace and the platform deliver fantastic solutions that are flexibleenough to meet the needs of a wide range of consumers.The role requires a high level of user focus in relation to technical and non-functional requirements, commercial awareness, an ability to prioritise tasks and good communication skills.The successful candidate must be able to effectively input to product development activities within an agile development framework, rapidly assimilate information and translate complex requirements into business solutions. They will also have good presentationskills in order to be able to effectively demonstrate product features. What you will do

  • Responding to emerging roadmap requirements and identifying logical solutions to meet those requirements
  • Responsible for the quality of the solution (in terms of its business applicability) and the successful production of a release candidate version of the software
  • Act as a platform expert both internally + externally
  • Working closely with the engineering team to create, manage and maintain a Backlog in JIRA, including User Stories and Acceptance criteria
  • Working closely with software development teams in an Agile environment to define priorities and manage issues to successful conclusion
  • Work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to:
    • Create clearly defined requirements through rigorous investigation, analysis and review in order to define and document business and user requirements
    • Visit customers and market representatives/events to create, review, and challenge solution requirements
    • Carry out fit and gap analysis of requirements vs. products to understand if standard products meet user needs or identify key opportunities through areas of product improvement
    • Define and communicate logical solutions to meet market and customer requirements
  • Work with Agile engineering and CoE teams to produce Proof of Concept solutions where required
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues
  • Attend customer briefings and presentations
  • Work with developers to monitor code changes for quality and impact on future roadmap items to reduce potential bugs
  • Actively contribute to the definition of the future roadmap of the product
  • Work with engineering teams to improve velocity through advising on code sharing to reduce coding times, validating estimates, reviewing velocity and sprint overflow and feeding back improvements via retrospectives
  • Work with engineering teams and stakeholders to detail non-functional requirements

Experience of the following would also be beneficial, but is not essential:
