Job Description

RSR Police is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to supporting Blue Light sector organisations with their recruitment.RSR Police are currently recruiting for Product Developer Training Officers to assist with shaping the future of learning at West Midlands Police. Organisation Development & Learning at West Midlands Police has entered an exciting new phase, adopting thelatest technologies to provide engaging and effective blended learning.This role is dynamic and interesting, this role will see you being responsible for the initial engagement with stakeholders who are exploring learning and development solutions to help address emerging issues or to enhance existing service provision in linewith strategic priorities or national priorities. The role will support requests for commissioning learning, using innovative approaches to design and develop effective learning solutions.This role is initially a temporary contract for 3 months with a view to being offered a fixed term contract for 9 months, working Monday to Friday based in Edgbaston. The rate of pay for this role is £16.29 per hour PAYE.Main Duties:

  • Engage and work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts who have commissioned new learning
  • Using robust learning needs analysis processes to understand the business needs and identify when learning is a suitable solution
  • Design and develop quality learning products (using ADDIE model) to optimise best learning principles which offer an engaging learner experience
  • Utilise the best methods for new learning, optimising blended solutions in support of departmental objectives to offer digital and modern learning solutions
  • Research and keep up to date with developments and best practice in the learning sector and use internal and external insight to shape innovative learning solutions which offer best value for money
  • Optimise quality assurance standards of all learning materials produced
  • Provide a customer focused learning & development service that is responsive and supportive
  • Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues, stakeholders, partners to support the achievement of organisational objectives
  • Use department systems and design tools, including Learning Management Systems/Virtual Platforms (College Learn, Blackboard) to develop fit for purpose learning
  • Attend any relevant project and force level meetings as a leaning Subject Matter Expert
  • Proactively manage own continuous professional development
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be determined from time to time.
Essential Requirements:
  • Relevant teaching/learning qualification
  • Sound understanding of the learning & development sector, best practice and technologies.
  • Significant experience of working with the ADDIE model (or similar) to complete Learning Needs Analysis, learning design and development.
  • Proven experience of proactive stakeholder management
  • Proven experience of implementing blended learning approaches including working knowledge of 70:20:10
  • Experience of using quality assurance practices, including regular review and evidence of continuous improvement in design and development of learning interventions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain working relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Evidence of excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to produce concise and well-reasoned reports with appropriate recommendations when required.
  • Demonstrate competence of working to deadlines and delivering results through effective planning, prioritisation and organisation of work and resources, with minimal supervision, understanding when to escalate to supervision
  • Good knowledge of current diversity and inclusion practice including legislation.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Learning Management Systems and Virtual platforms, specifically College Learn and Blackboard)
  • Instructional Design Qualification
  • Trained and experience of using Articulate Storyline
  • Experience as a trainer, including ability to facilitate, run seminars and focus groups
