Role Profile: The role requires strategic procurement responsibility to:
  • Oversee and maintain accurate product data, images, descriptions, marketing content and downloadable documents
  • Maintain a specific focus on search relevancy on the platform paying particular attention to key brands and categories
  • Work closely with the Category Buyers for prioritisation of task lists and self-manage accordingly
  • Work directly with vendor partners to collate latest product lists and catalogues and gain an understanding of their brand positioning and promotion goals. Paying particular attention to brand top sellers’ and manipulate search terms accordingly to showcasethem
  • Work closely with the Product Data Team to ensure current product lists are live and searchable on the platform, prioritising accordingly with the strategic vendor partners
  • Utilise content management tools to edit and manipulate product content and search terms to deliver positive search results on the platform and ensuring vendor/supplier content is integrated into the platform seamlessly.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all product listings, addressing discrepancies promptly
  • Collaborate with the vendor marketing team to promote featured products across the brand microsites and ensure we are promoting relevant products, align with trending products in the market and seasonality conditions
  • Manage the Trending Products’ ribbon across all variations of the platform, collaborate with Category Buying Team to understand key products to advertise
  • Keep an eye on industry trends and competitor e-commerce sites to stay head in content and data management best practices
  • Ensure you are registered on appropriate vendor and distributor mailing list to be aware of latest products and roadmaps
  • Display correct partner status logos across the product pages to demonstrate to clients the level of accreditations and expertise for key brands
  • Always maintain a high attention to detail to ensure accuracy of product data
  • Identify, report and follow through any tooling bugs and system issues and report back to senior management
  • Ongoing training for product, market and professional skills, utilising knowledge and experience from within the supply chain
Key Competencies
  • Have the ability and strong confidence to communicate with vendors and suppliers both in person and in writing
  • Be able to plan and prioritise an extremely large workload
  • Efficiently coordinate with cross functional teams, setting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must be IT literate and possess good experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Be able to think like a buyer to implement product catalogue changes and improvements to improve UX
  • Possess a strong business acumen to understand the financial aspects of a product, such as pricing and margins
  • Holds existing supply chain relationships and can develop new supplier relationships
  • Experience in negotiation of pricing and commercial terms of IT and technology products/services
  • Ability to hold supplier meetings to discuss product category objectives and demonstrate their business digital capability
  • Use of initiative to drive focus and development of your category
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise using your own initiative
  • Ability to analyse data to make strategic business decisions
  • Have a solid attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of online product data
  • Be able to think and work in an analytical way to make effective commercial decisions
  • Previous experience of working in a product management role would be a significant advantage.
