Job Description

Process Engineer - ManufacturingBirminghamOur client proudly supports jewellers across the country. Our client is a friendly, well-established and growing business. They are currently looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join their engineering team.What you’ll be doing:You will play a pivotal role in supporting the Engineering department, ensuring the efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement of our client’s manufacturing processes. This will also involve the project planning and installation of new capital equipment.Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Analysing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality- Management of Change procedure development- Developing and drafting an improved production process- Designing and implementing cost-reductive changes- Maximizing the productivity of machinery and operators- Increasing the speed and efficiency of processes without compromising quality- Determining which machines, tools, equipment, etc. will be used and where they will be stationed in the facility- Assisting with the development and implementation of manufacturing control measures that effectively monitor products and guarantee desired results- Providing technical expertise to the manufacturing departments: casting, rolling, furnace annealing, pressing and CNC machining- Providing technical support to our client’s in-house maintenance team during breakdowns and planned outages- Diagnosing the origin of breakdowns (including human error) and troubleshooting problems- Draw and maintain CAD layouts for process and project plans using Autocad LT and Gantt charts- Working within set budgetary plans for the project- Communicating with clients and vendors to obtain materials and/or equipment neededWhat you’ll need to bring to the show:- A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies- Familiarity with CAD software- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access)- Proven experience in manufacturing with a focus on casting, rolling, furnace annealing, pressing, and CNC machining.
