Job Description

Principal Designer and CDM Advisor Up to £60,000 + Vehicle + BenefitsBirmingham, West Midlands (Remote)A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within a thriving Surveying organisation, who are experts in providing high-quality surveying and CDM services and advice for clients in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Due to continued success,our client is looking to recruit a CDM Advisor/Principal Designer located centrally as the position will involve travel across the Midlands, Wales and South Central areas.As a Principal Designer/CDM Advisor, you will plan, monitor and co-ordinate health and safety risks in the design phase of refurbishment and rebuild projects in the residential and commercial sectors, caused by fire and flood damage. You will act as PrincipalDesigner and advise clients on all H&S and CDM related matters, carry out site visits & audits and ensure that all Health & Safety documentation is fully compliant with current legislation.The successful Principal Designer/CDM Advisor will possess:

  • NEBOSH Construction certificate (or equivalent)
  • HNC, HND, BSc or MSc in a construction-related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in a CDM advisor role or construction safety role
  • Excellent working knowledge of CDM2015 and H&S legislation
  • Tech/Grad/Chartered member of IOSH
  • APS (Association for Project Safety) membership is highly desirable, but not essential
  • Full driving license with a flexible approach to travel
  • Excellent client facing skills with the ability to understand clients needs
