With over 9,600 colleagues globally and around 1000 in the UK & Ireland we are growing significantly and seeking out the very best talent to join the SYSTRA signature team and be part of leading the way in infrastructure design.SYSTRA is looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as HS2 and Trans-Pennine Upgrade, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate peopleto deliver projects across our portfolio.We are looking for an experienced Climate and Carbon Consultant to join our team, specialising in climate planning, net zero, decarbonisation, risk assessment and climate adaption and resilience.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consultancy and expertise in several of carbon disciplines including; carbon asset management, carbon-based analysis, energy efficiency, decarbonisation pathways, whole life asset management and carbonefficiency measures.The Principal Consultant will work closely with clients across both public and private sectors, providing strategic guidance and innovative solutions to help them achieve their sustainability goals. They will lead, grow and develop a team of climate andcarbon consultants, identifying new opportunities, with support of the Department Manager, to win and deliver work.Main Duties of role

  • Perform carbon-based analysis and provide data-driven insights to help clients identify and prioritize carbon reduction opportunities.
  • Identify new opportunities in transportation and adjacent markets.
  • Lead, develop and grow the Climate and Carbon Team including identifying recruitment needs.
  • Supporting the tendering and delivery of environmental infrastructure projects and project teams.
  • Work with the department lead to win work.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver comprehensive, client-focused solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring timely completion and delivering high-quality results.
  • Act as the technical authority on Carbon and Climate projects.
  • Collaborating with SYSTRA disciplines to identify low carbon solutions.
  • Support internal and external carbon training.
  • Support the wider business in developing and achieving low-carbon targets and objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of carbon-based analysis, energy efficiency, decarbonisation pathways, whole life asset management, and carbon efficiency measures.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget on multi-discipline projects for public, infrastructure and private clients
  • A collaborative nature, demonstrating strong relationships with design teams and partner companies in the supply chain.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability and asset management.
  • Experience of bidding and tendering within the industry.
  • Chartered Member of relevant Professional Body such as CIWEM, IEMA or equivalent body.
