Job Description

This Pre-Sales Consultant role is to work with the MD and the sales people, running detailed discovery meetings and delivering superb demonstrations of supply chain planning solutions, merchandising planning, distribution planning and demand planning software that integrates with ERP solutions. So you will need a strong background in Pre-Sales of some of the above software products (with prior software implementation experience in this field) and an understanding of integrating solutions to ERP software. Salary to £70k plus £6k car allowance, and bonus of c£10k.The company is located in the south of Birmingham in the Midlands in easy reach of the M6, M40, M42 motorways, convenient for travelling to client sites for presentations and demos. You will probably be in the office two days a week (once this is fully allowed in the UK and following the rules for social distancing and safety), as well as out on client site or working from home, so realistically you need to live within 90 minutes commute of the Birmingham area. The role:

  • Run consultative sessions with potential clients covering RFP, discovery, demonstration, and follow-up
  • Give solid and informative demonstrations of the functionality of the supply chain planning and demand planning solutions
  • Understand your clients business needs and pain points and explain the end-to-end value chain in their areas of supply chain planning, distribution planning, merchandising, and inventory planning
  • Respond to requests for information, write solid proposals, reports and supporting literature
  • Build strong relationships leading to successful sales of the solution
  • Conduct prospect and customer webinars to educate clients and keep them informed of any new product enhancements
  • In order to demonstrate the functionality of the solution, you will need to understand supply chain planning software, forecasting, demand planning, merchandising, and ERP software. So you will probably have worked with a software author or reseller that is involved with the supply chain planning or demand management or inventory forecasting sectors on solutions such as Synchron (Eazystock), Netstock, Relex, Just Enough, Llamasoft (acquired Barloworld Supply Chain) Futurmaster, John Galt, Slimstock, Infor Demand Planning, AGR, TXT e-soln, Demand Solutions, Infor Mercia or similar. The job can be difficult as most clients are large established companies with an existing ERP solution, often linked to disparate WMS (Warehouse Management) and EDI systems that are integrated together, and to add an extra solution involves careful specification and integration. So, as the Pre-Sales consultant you will need to gain a through understanding of how the solution can work within their existing ERP set up. You will need to investigate how the existing clients have achieved integration success, so that when you are with new clients, you can offer relevant success stories as examples of how the ERP integration works.Teamwork and collaboration with the marketing, sales, product and consulting people are critical to success; they encourage idea sharing here, as you never know who will come up with the next great innovation. Projects are exciting and can be challenging, and you will have scope for lots of personal input to help shape the business and the product. Why is this a great job The MD and the sales team are confident optimistic and professional and this is a very "sales positive" environment. The product is superb, their consulting team is top notch and a pre-sales role here offers a long term career, working with very large customers on big deals. The product has a strong road map and a great future.Get in touch with Carolyn MacLurg or Jake King by phone or email at Ambis Resourcing or send over your CV as soon as possible. Required skills
