Job Description

Whether that’s through flexible working, really understandinghow you work best or exposing you to real opportunities to challenge yourself, if you’re passionate about making your mark on the industry and on society, then we will help you do that.Your RoleAs a Policy Manager, your role will involve:- Managing policy tasks and deliverables and supporting all stages of policy work from setting policy processes to working with Research and Statistics to evaluate the impact of our policies.- Conducting effective planning for policy projects and contributing to effective programme management within the Commission.- Supporting the provision of Advice to Government on effective legislation and policy.- Providing expert policy advice across the Commission.- Supporting regulatory partnerships - this may include international work with other international jurisdictions, with other regulators and bodies, and with our shared regulation partners.This is a hybrid role, therefore there will be a requirement to attend our Birmingham Office.About You- Strong analytical skills and proven experience in developing and shaping policy, particularly relating to consumer protection.- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to a range of audiences in a clear and timely fashion.- Ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders.- Experience of leading and delivering work stream or project activity to agreed outcomes, deadlines and budget. This will include planning, design, development, testing, implementation and evaluation as appropriate.- Experience in a policy or regulatory environment of identifying problems or issues and developing approaches to solving them.About UsSet up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling.
