Job Description

Philanthropy ManagerHome Based (based in the Midlands or North England)About UsOur purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning. We’re looking for a Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy Team, managing the Midlands and North of England region. The Philanthropy Team’s primary purpose is to maximise fundraising opportunities from philanthropists within set regions in order to contribute to the Philanthropy Team’s growth targets.The Benefits- Salary of £30,978 - £36,445 (dependent on experience)- Flexible working- Company vehicle made available- 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays- Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary)- Life assurance- Health and dental cash planYour RoleAs a Philanthropy Manager, you will be tasked with focusing on the following areas:- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing and potential philanthropists securing large multi-year financial gifts- Build compelling cases for support and financial asks’ to secure income for identified funding needs within the organisation- Host a small number of engagement, prospecting and recognition events and assist with their delivery- Provide excellent customer service and stewardship, through regular tailored communications and opportunities to engage with the cause and beneficiaries- Deliver a structured acquisition plan for every supporter, ensuring you meet predefined financial and time KPIs- Build, educate and steward a portfolio of advocates who will help deliver the Philanthropy strategy such as Trustees and Council Members, the Executive Team, existing supporters, branch members and other RNLI volunteers- Ensure reporting and administration processes and requirements are owned and adhered toAbout YouAs an enthusiastic and experienced Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating high net worth individuals, inspiring them to make a multi-year major gift, in-line with the Philanthropy strategy.To be considered as Philanthropy Manager, you will need:- Relevant experience of account managing and making significant asks of high net worth individuals- Excellent relationship-building skills- Prioritisation and organisational skills- The ability to work to set financial and KPI targets- To be degree educated or have equivalent experienceOther organisations may call this role Philanthropy Gifts Manager, Major Gifts Philanthropy Manager, Principal Philanthropy Manager, or Major Giving Manager.So, if as a Philanthropy Manager you combine enthusiasm, strong organisational skills and want to see how you can support our organisation’s aim to reduce drowning, this could be the role for you.
