Job Description

School Office Administrator (Part-Time)Salary: £9.9K - £10.6KBCR/JH/10929BirminghamOverview:Bell Cornwall Recruitment are excited to be recruiting for our clients dynamic role in the heart of their schools community in Birmingham. As the Office Administrator you will ensure the seamless operation of the school office. Collaborating with the OfficeCoordinator, the Headteacher, and Trust Shared Services Teams, this role is the primary contact for parents, carers, volunteers, contractors, and the wider community. The successful candidate will embody values of equity, equality, and inclusion and contributeto the schools commitment to sustainability and technological advancement.The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous office administration experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Be proficient in office software and technology.
  • Commit to promoting diversity, safeguarding, and data protection.
  • Embrace the Trusts Touchstones and contribute to strategic priorities.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. General School Support and Administration:
    • Execute office duties under the guidance of the Office Coordinator.
    • Handle enquiries from visitors/parents in person/over the telephone.
    • Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
  2. Communication:
    • Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders.
    • Contact parents and pupils as required.
    • Manage incoming mail and correspondence.
  3. Finance and Procurement:
    • Contribute to the management and audit of school resources.
    • Assist in the efficient management and recording of school finances.
  4. Health & Safety and Well-being:
    • Administer and record daily pupil medication.
    • Monitor and replenish first aid supplies.
    • Report and document health and safety concerns.
  5. Marketing and Communications:
    • Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
    • Upload content to social media and the website.
    • Assist in creating engaging school newsletters and communications.
  6. Asset Management:
    • Support Catering staff with school meal enquiries.
    • Assist in fire drills, lock-down, and emergency evacuation procedures.
    • Report IT issues promptly to the IT help-desk or third-party contractors.
  7. Safeguarding:
    • Ensure a secure and safe environment for staff and students.
    • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  8. Extended Schools, Extra-Curricular Activities, and Trips:
    • Assist in the administration of school trips, clubs, nursery, and before/after-school care.
    • Contribute to the success of the 11 Before 11 Programme.
