Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk professional to join the Operational Risk Management team which covers Operational Risk, Operational Resilience, Payments Risk, Digital & Technology Risk, Data Risk, People Risk, and Change Risk.We also drive forward the Risk Transformation programme, refreshing everything about the way we manage risk across the Bank.You’ll report to the Senior Manager responsible for Risk Transformation and People Risk. There will be a strong focus on ensuring risk and control profiles and operational risk processes and procedures are known, understood, adhered to, and embedded. Therole will focus on supporting the Risk and Finance areas, as well as co-ordinating the Business Partnering efforts across Operational Risk Management.What you’ll be doing

  • Establishing Business Partnering routines including attendance at Risk Forums, ongoing stakeholder meetings and regular interaction with Senior Leaders, ensuring key action or awareness points are raised accordingly
  • Leading & supporting the co-ordination of the Business Partners across the wider team
  • Challenging 1LOD and 2LOD Business Units to ensure risk frameworks are being used in the correct way, as well as maturing the ability for the Business to adopt process-based risk management and make data-driven decisions
  • Overseeing and providing training and guidance in the deployment of the Operational Risk framework across 2LOD and VM
  • Providing high quality insights and reporting at all levels, including Board Risk Committee and to the regulator
  • Building and managing relationships at all levels across the group, particularly 1st Line of Defence Risk teams, Audit, Compliance, and the wider risk function
  • Contributing to the Risk Transformation, move to a new GRC system, and all associated framework changes, including rollout and embedding across the Business
  • Maintaining awareness of industry best practice developments and technical developments (where appropriate) that influence the regulatory operating environment.
We need you to have
  • A broad knowledge of Operational Risk Management disciplines and the 3 Lines of Defence model in place across the Bank
  • Subject matter expertise in a related and relevant area of Risk: Operational Risk, Financial Risk, risk frameworks and their lifecycle
  • Knowledge across a subset of the following: risk frameworks, process design, control testing, control design, fraud, regulatory Risk reporting and compliance, process-based risk management
  • Experience of adoption and embedding of risk frameworks.
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
  • Relevant professional qualification (Project Management, Agile, Technology, Risk Management, Fraud, SOX, Audit, Operational Audit)
  • Strong experience of Retail and/or SME banking
  • Experience in designing reports for a variety of stakeholders, ensuring key messages are presented appropriately for the audience.
