Job Description

Vivo Talent has formed an exclusive partnership with an expanding Bank based in Birmingham. We are currently searching for a skilled Operational Risk Analyst to join the team and support our esteemed client in their pursuit of excellence.The Role:As an Operational Risk Analyst, you will assist the Senior Manager in implementing and integrating the Risk Management Framework. Your main responsibilities involve supporting risk management activities by implementing and promoting various risk managementprocesses and initiatives. You will ensure compliance with the operational risk framework by monitoring and analysing data related to risk events and the RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment) process.Responsibilities:

  • Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)– Supporting the first line in completing the RCSA process. Identify data exceptions and inconsistencies with other framework elements (including risk events), working with first line areas to address or raising concernsto management where appropriate. Oversight and challenge on first line inputs.
  • Risk events– Monitor risk ensuring appropriate remedial work and root cause analysis is undertaken by first line business areas and tracked to conclusion, ensuring data accuracy, and review associated risk data.
  • GRC -managing and monitoring operational risk activities within the Bank’s GRC system, ensuring alignment to the Bank’s taxonomy. Support system development activities.
  • Oversight– Providing periodic and ad-hoc oversight to operational risk framework e.g. risk event, RCSAs, support the risk team in analysis and production of thematic oversight reporting ensuring these are timely, accurate and relevant to the risks of thebusiness.
  • Reporting –Producing clear, quality reports to relevant committees as required by the line manager.
  • Operational Resilience– Supporting line manager in Operational Resilience oversight activities.
  • Update and production of relevant SOPs.
Experience:
  • Experience of working within a risk or control area within financial services.
  • Experience in a 2LOD environment is desirable.
  • Awareness of operational risk and control environment execution within a financial services environment.
  • Experience in managing a GRC system, or similar, is desirable.
  • Experience in supporting and influencing at senior management level is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in Operational Resilience is desirable.
