Job Description

Job Description We have 1 permanent, part time position, Monday - Thursday (20 hours per week) within our family-owned city centre trade outlet. We are a packaging specialist company, looking for an energetic and outgoing person to join our growing team.Duties include:*Assisting in day-to-day sales, using EPOS.*Data inputting using EPOS Accounts system.*As part of a team of 3 - manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing payments and generating invoices.*Handle petty cash and office expenses.*Manage office inventory and ordering of supplies.*General office routine and diary management.*Cash handling and daily reconciliation.*Making and receiving telephone calls and handling email correspondence.*Scan and file paperwork.*Processing orders via emails and e-commerce website.*Maintain a tidy and organised office environment.-You would be working in a small team, mainly desk based and you must be proficient in Microsoft 365, to include Outlook, Excel and Word.-Initial six weeks trial with induction period of six months.-In first instance, please email with your CV and your current employment status.-Job Types: Part-time, Permanent.-Salary: £12.50 per hour (1st year); £13.00 per hour (2nd year).Person Specification:-We are looking for someone who is organised, productive and vibrant to join our team.-Ideal candidate would be fully IT literate, having phone confidence and customer service experience.-Ideally someone who lives within a 10 mile vicinity of the city centre (B5) due to the 9:30am start (Monday to Thursday - until 2:30pm *note the start time can be flexible).-Some knowledge of accountancy and experience of using packages (such as SAGE 50/Quick books/Xero) is essential.-Experience of EPOS (electronic point of sale systems) is advantageous.Do you have the following skills

  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Apprenticeship or a higher/further educational qualification in accounting/booking such as AAT is desirable.
  • Ideal candidate must be willing to learn new skills and integrate into the office team.
Experience of working within a similar environment (retail - office and trade counter) is an advantage.This is a rewarding job within a friendly team and we can also offer free on-site parking.The intention is for the successful candidate to start from Tuesday 2nd April 2024 or sooner if possible.
