Job Description

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 - 15:30pm / 10:30am - 18:30pm shift rotaPay Rate: £12.21 per hour paid weekly each FridayLocation: Birmingham/AstonLength of Assignment: 4 weeksStart Date: 1st May 2023THE ROLE Job role: Examinations Assistant

  • To assist in the administration of in-person and online examinations for the summer assessment period (May)
  • Must be flexible and understand that work on-campus during the assessment period is required every day. A rota system will be in place to cover AM or PM exam sessions - e.g. 07:30 - 15:30 or 10:30 - 18:30. A mixture of these shifts may be required overthe assessment periods. The first 3 days of the role will provide the necessary training, working a standard 9-5 on campus in preparation for the upcoming assessment period.
  • Must have high attention to detail and accuracy at all times and be comfortable working autonomously on occasion.
  • Microsoft excel, OneDrive, Word, Outlook and MS Teams and MS Forms knowledge and experience is required to a good/excellent standard
  • Must have good communication skills and be approachable, professional and confident when speaking to other colleagues and students at all times.
  • To assist the Examinations Officer in creating daily rotas and registering invigilators at start/end of exam sessions each day for in-person assessments during each period
  • To assist in registering students at the start of each exam session and be a point of contact for student queries
  • To invigilate examinations in-person or online as required (full training provided)
  • To assist with general administration duties, keeping examination records up to date, responding to student queries and to collate examination packs which include confidential information.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Word processing and Excel spreadsheet.
  • Prior experience in an administrative role
  • Ability to manage own time and workload.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to support, guide and inform as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in appropriate language with colleagues both orally and in writing.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability prioritise workload when working independently and as part of a team.
