Job Description

Job Title: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTLocation : SandwellWorking : 37 hours per week - hybrid workingHybrid WorkingRole SummaryOur client is looking for a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will work with patients to help them regain their independence and improve their quality of life. You will be responsible forassessing patients needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to help patients achieve their goals.They have a dynamic and responsive team who work closely alongside colleagues in community social work and reablement services to provide a streamlined and quality customer journey.Role Responsibilities

  • Carrying out Occupational Therapy assessments for vulnerable adults throughout the borough.
  • To work with vulnerable adults and carers, helping them to achieve ambitions, helping them to do things, take control over their lives as much as possible, building relationships and networks that maintain their independence.
  • To provide a service that flexibly meets the needs of service users within budgetary constraints.
  • To have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory framework and Government initiatives relating to your service area, including safeguarding, and the needs of vulnerable adults.
  • To have knowledge of the principles and responsibility of information sharing and data protection in line with legislation.
  • To undertake specific duties and responsibilities determined by the line manager to enable the team to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • To work with the line manager to ensure day to day functioning of the team in operational matters.
  • To work with managers and other staff members to share and promote good practice and work co-operatively to ensure consistency in working practices wherever feasible and champion all changes particularly in relation to the personalisation agenda.
Qualifications Required Skills
  • BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is an essential requirement
  • Enhanced DBS with Adult Barring and subscribed to the DBS Update Subscription Service
  • Full Driving Licence and access to own vehicle to travel around the Borough
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation practices and evidence based interventions
  • Compassionate and patient centered approach to care
  • Applicants will need to be self-motivated, organised with effective communication skills both written and verbally. Part of the daily role will be completing assessments both in service user’s homes to help promote and maximise our service users independenceand virtually by the use of programs such as Microsoft Teams.
