Job Description

Callan Connect are a family-owned civil engineering company based in Aston and Birmingham specialising in the telecommunications industry. Callans work with CityFibre to support the roll out of 5G across the UK. Callan Connect are currently expanding theirteam and are seeking an experienced Streetworks Coordinator to join our busy streetworks team to manage all of the noticing and permitting for streetworks.Key responsibilities include;

  • Opening and Closing of Streetworks permits using bespoke systems whilst ensuring that all aspects of the TMA (Traffic Management Act) are met
  • Responding to any Section 74 charges that may occur
  • Regularly liaise with local authorities and third parties
  • Liaise with local authorities to set up meetings with the LA if required;
  • Monitor real time on site/off site information and highlighting concerns;
  • Manage deferrals, variations, aborted visits as well as customer expectations and urgent requests monitoring comments and challenges received from Local Highway Authority
  • Dealing with all duties under the relevant statutory legislation ensuring all information is collated and produced in a timely manner.
Who we are looking forYou will:
  • Strong, proven background in a similar coordination role
  • Good knowledge of the New Roads and Streetworks (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act (TMA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently but also be a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and motivated approach
  • Strong IT skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point
