11 September 2023 Permanent Full Time EmployersOur ClientThis successful renewable energy SME is involved with a large solar residential project in the UK that is operational. The company funds, operates and maintains rooftop solar PV alongside smart meters, LED lighting and, in some cases, energy storageunits. Due to growth and expansion, the business is diversifying activity and is looking to develop a range of commercial and ground based solar projects as well.The NED Requirement & RoleThe Board of the JV currently consists of 4 people, two appointed byeach JV partner. Since one of the Board members is leaving, there is the strategic requirement to recruit a new Non Executive Director (NED). It is envisaged that initially, this NED will work 2 to 3 days per month, working on a wide range of residential andcommercial solar project matters.Core elements to this NED role entail:* Being hands on, dealing with wide ranging operational and perhaps regulatory matters with an existing solar residential programme* Helping to drive forwards commercial solar project managerialactivity on new developments* Liaise regularly with the other JV NED’s and interested stakeholder parties, related to various operational and project development matters* On behalf of one of the JV partners scrutinise and support decisions made by the Boardnoting the 1-2 year exit strategy of the JV partner(s)* Provide continual guidance to ensure the organisation serves its stakeholders in the best possible way* Give independent strategic advice and oversight on the development and growth of the organisationRelevantExperience, Knowledge & FitSuitable candidates will display the following objective experience:* Must have UK solar project development experience/knowledge* Strong stakeholder management experience, ideally used to working with Councils and other partiesto develop solar projects* Excellent commercial and project management knowledge* Ideally, someone that has also developed reasonable regulatory knowledge and awareness throughout their career* Hands on, comfortable in working with SME’s* Sound understandingof corporate governance* Strong character and personality with excellent influencing skills* Entrepreneurial, innovative, insightful, collaborative and impactful* Provide a high level of commitment and energy* Open to a first time NED* A UK nationalCandidateAvailability* Able/willing to travel to the North Midlands* Ability to attend meetings virtually via video conference from home in the event physical attendance is not possible* Approximately 2 to 3 days per month, ad hoc calls/meetings, and participationin company events where possibleIf you feel this opportunity is suitable and of interest, please email us your CV in the first instanceKeywordsConstructionWorking HoursNo specific preferenceWorking DaysNo specific preferenceStart DateNo specific preferenceExpensesAddressBirmingham, West Midlands (County), United KingdomCV-Library Birmingham, West Midlands (County), United Kingdom #J-18808-Ljbffr
