Job Description

NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), Genetics, Molecular Diagnostics Your new companyAn innovative healthcare diagnostics biotech focused on the use of cell-free circulating DNA as a novel, non-invasive diagnostic too. Now undergoing massive growth, they are seeking a laboratory professional with considerable experience with NGS workflows tojoin a team of highly motivated scientists and sector professionals with experience in translating research into routine diagnostic tools that will enhance the wellbeing of patients globally.Your new role

  • You will be expected to make an appropriate contribution to clinical work, performing as a trained laboratory technician, undertaking a reasonably broad and demanding range of analytical and technical work activities with a high degree of individual skilland judgement under minimal supervision.
  • Much of the work will involve performing genetic techniques (NGS workflows), using specialist equipment and analysis systems for the routine processing of a range of pathological materials, supporting the development of existing and emerging technology.
  • At all times, you will be expected to implement and maintain a high standard for health, safety and risk management procedures and work to recognised UKAS standards.
What youll need to succeed
  • You hold a BSc, MSc or PhD in Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry, or in a related field.
  • You will show demonstrable post-graduate/ doctorate experience in several molecular techniques including, but not limited to, Next Generation Sequencing library preparation/sequencing (essential), DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR.
  • Prior experience working in a regulated environment (ideally ISO 15189) will be advantageous.
