Network Engineer - BirminghamUp to £65,000Please note: all potential candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency)Our client, a well-establish and reputable managed service provider is seeking a Network Engineer to join them on a permanent basis on site with one of their clients in Birmingham. They provide a wealth of different technical services predominately to government/defenceclients. They offer excellent career progression prospects and embrace further learning and development.You will be responsible for planning, developing, and testing Change Requests with a keen understanding of their business impact. Your expertise in providing third line technical support, both during and outside business hours, will be crucial. Additionally,you will develop designs, technical routines, and instructions for wider teams. Your role will involve delivering infrastructure solutions, supported by the production of high and low-level design documentation. You should also have project delivery and taskmanagement experience.Essential Skills and Experience:* Extensive experience in Data Centre and large campus network design and support, with a strong background in working with routers, switches, LAN/WAN, load balancers, firewalls, and wireless technologies using Aruba and Fortinet.* Proficiency in designing, deploying, and supporting large wireless networks using Aruba ClearPass and AirWave.* Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Wireshark, ICINGA, and CACTI.* Proven experience in designing, deploying, and supporting routing protocols like BGP and OSPF, as well as various VPN/encryption technologies.Desirable Experience:* Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V* Proficiency in Microsoft Operating systems* Knowledge of RedHat/Centos LINUX support and configuration* Experience in scripting* Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM)* Experience working with virtualized networks (VMware/AWS)* Understanding of DR and business continuity* Proficiency in incident, change, and access control management (ITIL)A competitive salary of up to £65,000 PA plus numerous other attractive benefits (24 days holiday, an excellent pension scheme, certifications/training and much more)
