Job Description

Negotiator - Master Trading DocumentationBirminghamAs a Barclays Negotiator - Master Trading Documentation, you will perform negotiations of Master Trading Netting Agreements with the Banks counterparties, directly contributing to the Banks efficient use of capital. In this key role, you will be recognisedas the expert on the ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) Master Agreements managed by GCS (Global Contract Services). We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances.Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager. What will you be doing• Drafting, negotiating, and executing capital markets contract documentation with an assigned portfolio of Barclays according with the firms policies and procedures • Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and documentation risk controls and adhere to associated guidelines and procedures • Maintaining up to date, working knowledge of the products covered and applica-ble regulations actively • Conducting independent legal research and manage relationships with external counsel in accordance with Barclays requirements on external legal spend • Identifying processes that can be improved around data capture, technology, and documentation • Helping team members in managing negotiations with clients • Drafting of variations and working closely with Markets lawyers on issues associ-ated with those variations What were looking for: • Bachelors Degree and Financial services experience, in legal or as a negotiator • Comprehensive knowledge of loan linked documentation • Experience and knowledge of the ISDA Master Agreement, the financial Industry and Legal roles • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Skills that will help you in the role:• French, Italian, Spanish speaker • Qualified lawyer in Scotland, England & Wales or other jurisdiction • Broad knowledge of current regulatory requirements affecting investment banks in the derivatives space and familiarity with regulatory project implementation Where will you be workingBarclays Snowhill is at the heart of the professional district and commands a workforce of around 1000.
