Job Title: Multi-trade OperativeLocation: BirminghamHours: Full time hours with occasional out of hours call outs.Salary: £27k - £30k plus expenses / mileage depending on experience and qualifications.New Start Supported Housing work in partnership with Aspirations Care to offer "Supported Living Accommodation" which provides a safe home environment to vulnerable adults.We have a current vacancy for a qualified and experienced multi-trade operative to diagnose, undertake and complete repairs in our, occupied and empty, supported living properties across the Birmingham City region.Duties include:· To visit properties to diagnose, undertake and complete repairs.· To carry out planned refurbishment works such as replacement kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms.· To complete tiling, flooring, painting, decorating and plastering.· To complete carpentry and plumbing jobs.· Respond to call outs and board up windows.· To ensure the safety of the property until permanent repairs can be carried out.· To report back on jobs and order required materials.The person:· A trade qualification to NVQ level 3 along with a 2nd trade related qualification.· Have experience of undertaking domestic refurbishments and home improvements.· Possess a CSCS card or willing to work towards.· Full UK manual Driving license and own Van.· Ability to use a mobile device to update work status and images.· Own a range of power and hand tools.· Have a basic understanding of schedule of rates.· Good communication skills are essential.· An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.Aspirations and New Start is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitability qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the vulnerable adults that we support and expects all staff to share this commitment.
