Job Description

The Company:

The Role of the Multi Skilled Operative
  • As the Multi Skilled Operative youll be joining at team of 4 to ensure the Asphalt plant is run safely and efficiently.
  • Youll support the Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager whilst ensuring Health and Safety is prioritised whilst ensuring the production needs of the customers is met.
  • As the Multi Skilled Operative youll report to the Plant Manager and in their absence the Assistant Plant Manager.
  • Key tasks as the Multi Skilled Operative will be the day-to-day operations of the weighbridge, producing asphalt and operation of the loading shovel.
  • When youre not carrying out the above tasks youll be ensuring the general maintenance and housekeeping of the plant.
  • Complying with all Company Health, Safety & Environmental systems and reporting procedures.
  • This Multi Skilled Operative role is based at the companies Birmingham plant.

  • £28k-£30k basic salary

The Ideal Person for the Multi Skilled Operative
  • Will preferably have experience of working in a similar production environment e.g Asphalt, Concrete, aggregates etc.
  • Experience of operating one, or all: a weighbridge, loading shovel and asphalt mixing.
  • A good understanding of industry Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork are required.
  • Ability to work within an extremely busy team environment.
  • Fitting skills / Mechanical experience would be an advantage.
  • Must be flexible with regards to working hours, reliable, and enthusiastic.
  • Will have a full driving licence.
