Job Description

Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance EngineersBirminghamContinentals (4on 4off)£45,000 + Overtime We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will beinvolved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming teamof engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.Role Description

  • Prompt and efficient maintenance of all machinery
  • Advising and training any operators on use of machinery through monitoring the production line.
  • Creating a maintenance plan/schedule, preventing any downtime.
  • Taking ownership and creating a maintenance schedule, prioritising the workload, planning, andcommunicating this with your colleagues.
  • Timely and correct remedying malfunctions of machines and devices
  • Minimising maintenance costs where possible
  • Identifying unsafe situations and rectifying promptly
  • Management of any stocks, parts or consumables required and maintenance workshop.
  • Provide advice to other employees performing maintenance related tasks.
  • Leading and driving continuous improvement and working efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications
  • [Mechanical] ONC 2140 Mechanical Part 1,2 & 3 (ONC and NVQ3 as a minimum)/ [Electrical] Part 1 & 2 Elec qualification (ONC and NVQ3 as a minimum)
  • Time served apprenticeship
  • 1+ yr Heavy Engineering Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 Engineering / Mechanical or Electrical field
  • [Mechanical] Able to interpret drawings in order to fault find/ [Electrical] Able to interpret circuit drawnings in order to fault find.
  • Microsoft 365 Word and Excel
  • [Mechanical] Fitting Skills (bench fitting skills), Slinging & Lifting Skills, Hydraulic circuitry, Pneumatics, Understanding uneven loads, Importance of alignment
  • [Electrical] Understanding of PLC Systems & Ladder Logic - I/O, Understanding 3 phase circuits
  • Safe systems of work
  • Risk Assessments
  • Method statements
  • LTV/LOTO etc
