Job Description

South & City College Birmingham have and exciting opportunity for a MIS Manager to join our team. You will be required to work at any of our college centres. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of up to £42,037 per annum - for the suitable candidate.Following a recent restructure of our Management Information Services department, we are looking to appoint talented individuals to a number of key roles. This is an exciting time to join our organisation and to help us shape and deliver high quality accurateinformation in a timely manner to all our stakeholders.The ideal candidates will have relevant experience, bring innovation, energy and drive.Benefits Include:Generous annual leave entitlement (inclusive of Bank Holidays and Concessionary days), Employee Assistant Programme, Pension Scheme, Regular CPD & Training as well as a range of staff benefits and free parking at most of our sites.The MIS Manager Role:You will support the delivery and management of a high quality, trusted Management Information Service that meets the needs of the college and its stakeholders in a proactive manner; striving for continual improvement. You will also ensure that the Collegefunding returns to stakeholders such as the ESFA, WMCA and OfS/HESA are on time, accurate and compliant.Key responsibilities of our MIS Manager:

  • Provide operational management of MIS, not including examinations, but working alongside the examinations team to ensure seamless services to students and staff
  • In conjunction with the MIS Registrar to lead on Funding methodologies, impact analysis and assurance including support for planning assumptions and intelligence from external funding bodies.
  • Support the operational corporate planning activities
  • Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of cross-college processes to ensure that planning submissions and external data returns meet internal and external quality expectations and outcomes of plans are effectively measured, monitoredand reported
  • Ensure both internal and external returns deadlines are met and data requirements adhere to data requirement standards for audit, inspection and all external funding agency requirements
  • Complying with internal and external quality standards and contributing to the Colleges strategic aims
  • Complying with and putting into operation college and division policies and procedures and health and safety regulations
  • Supporting the protection and promotion of both staff and student welfare, particularly with regards to upholding the Colleges Equal Opportunities policy
What were looking for in our MIS Manager:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience within a technical/data environment
  • Awareness of using the manipulation of information from multiple data sources to enhance the quality of data
  • Extensive working knowledge of agency funding policy and the skills to implement any changes
  • Experience of using Agency software and producing college returns
  • Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Office packages
  • Demonstrable communication skills
  • Demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills
  • Demonstrable record of working flexibly and using own initiative
  • Experience of successfully working to pressure and tight deadlines
  • A good attendance record
