Job Description

SMART Education recruits into Teaching Jobs in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, and into Home Tutor jobs across the UK. Smart Education are working with a mixed residential special school we are currently seeking to appoint a minibus driver. Were seeking individuals with:

  • Proven experience handling larger vehicles, including vans and minibuses.
  • A strong foundation in basic vehicle safety
  • Specialised experience driving minibuses in a school environment.
What were looking for in you:
  • A flexible approach to work, with the ability to handle appointed shifts.
  • Excellent organisational skills for maintaining accurate administrative records.
  • The ability to maintain a calm demeanour in all situations.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with parents, pupils, colleagues, and the public using precise spoken English.
Ready to grow in your role Were looking for candidates who are:
  • Open to additional training opportunities
  • Hold or willing to complete Minibus Driver Awareness Training (MiDAS), maintaining this qualification during employment.
  • Willing to participate in school-identified training, including relevant MAPA (management of actual or potential aggression) training.
  • Experienced in Advance Driver Training
Make sure you have:
  • A current valid category D1 driving license with no more than six penalty points.
  • A commitment to ongoing relevant training.
  • Completed an Enhanced DBS check.
