Job Description

This successful global manufacturer are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their growing Maintenance department at their Birmingham facility. The role encompasses reactive & preventative maintenance on the mechanical equipment onsite.You will provide input into various areas of the process safety management (PSM) including testing & inspections.Client DetailsThis client is a specialist manufacturer that supply their products into multiple different industries across the world. The team is going through some positive change and they are looking to add to their experienced team.DescriptionThe Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be working as part of a wider Maintenance team onsite, working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance on various types of equipment including; pumps, agitators, presses, valves and pipe work systems
  • You will also be working with compressed air, nitrogen generation, cooling & hot water services
  • Execute processes to identify and respond effectively to hazards in safety, health, security and environment, taking account of people, plant, community & procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement to minimise plant downtime and reduce associated maintenance costs
  • Will support the implementation of SOPs related to the maintenance activity by giving constructive feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Support the site effort to create a culture of functional and operational excellence accountability, professionalism and commitment to company values, principles and standards
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (07:00 - 15:15/14:15)You will be required to be on a on-call rotaProfileA mechanically-biased engineer/technician that has worked in either a COMAH facility or manufacturing plant willing to be up-skilled as well as :
  • Time served apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety
  • COMAH chemical experience would be desirable
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a small team
Job OfferCirca £30,000 - £32,000 + BenefitsOn-call uplift of £7,500 (to be implemented once on the rota)
