Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Type: PermanentLocation: West Midlands – Birmingham or Stoke on TrentIndustry: M&E Building ServicesSalary: up to £60K depending on experiencePremier Engineering has engaged with a key client who are looking for 2 experienced Mechanical Design Engineer required to join one of the UK’s fastest growing M&E Building Services companies with the UK head office located in Birmingham but with sites all over the UK.My client has successfully delivered multiple large scale projects in Ireland, the UK & multiple locations in Europe. This Mechanical Design Engineer role is joining an experienced team in a very fast paced environment.This successful business has a vast portfolio of projects in Ireland, UK & Europe in the following sectors: industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, food processing, logistics distribution centres.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES2.1 Designing in conjunction with specifications and client requirements.2.2 Meeting project delivery deadlines2.3 Attendance design team meetings2.4 Managing the upkeep of the project Design tracker.2.5 Review and incorporate inputs from other disciplines or stakeholders into the overall design.2.6 Carrying out site surveys of existing installations and inspections.2.7 Production of stage reports & presentations2.8 Detailing electrical schematics for build2.9 Sourcing of the most modern and efficient Mechanical components for designs2.10 Prepare contractors proposals for issue to clients. 2.11 Liaising with clients, managing external consultants and designers.2.12 Prepare and Manage design, drawn information and drawing revisions effectively.2.13 Production of detailed design briefs, BOD’s and survey reports.2.14 Identify and resolve problems early, carry out all work in a professional manner.2.15 Performs design specifications/calculations and technical studies/reports.2.16 Monitor contract progress with regards to targeted project outcomes, quality managementsystems, contract specification and customer expectations.2.17 Provide technical assistance to project team where required while project is ongoing.2.18 Provide assistance to site team if any issues arise with models/drawings.2.19 Provide training/mentorship to junior Mechanical Engineers.2.20 Comply with all EHSQ policies and procedures as required.2.21 Maintain K&M document management system as appropriate to role.2.22 This list is not exhaustive or exclusive.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS3.1 Design Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent3.2 Ideally Chartered Engineer by Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) preferred3.3 Knowledge of HEVACOMP, AutoCAD, and Cymap3.4 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite3.5 Deep knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Irish and UK standards3.4 3 years’ experience in Construction industry preferred.3.5 Mechanical building services experience with deep working knowledge of
