Job Description

MARKETING MANAGER POSITION AVAILABLE, JANUARY 2024 STARTFull time, 37.5 hours weekly, 9am-5pmHybrid working, 3 days in office, 2 days remote working (Tuesday is mandatory in office) Birmingham, West MidlandsMy client is a well-known university based in Birmingham City Centre. They are seeking a full time, experienced marketing manager to join their team on a temporary basis, 6-12months+.This role will ideally suit somebody who is able to lead the development and delivery of B2B marketing activities to include customer acquisition, retention and growth campaigns to drive a year on year increase in leads from business and industry prospects,and data led cross and upsell opportunities for existing customers and users. The PositionWere looking for an impeccable marketing manager who is able to carry out the following:

  1. Plan, create, deliver and measure the success of marketing activities to support B2B product, service and project stakeholders with achieving their commercial and/or project targets ensuring activities deliver year on year growth in leads and cross andupsell opportunities.
  2. Deliver marketing activities based on customer insight and user need, collating and leveraging audience and market intelligence to develop strategy, create user personas, identify appropriate channels, and establish key messages and language to increaseengagement and conversion of target audiences.
  3. Lead the planning, delivery and measurement of end to end customer acquisition, growth, and retention marketing and campaign activities to deliver on strategic requirements, generate leads for commercial income, deliver a strong ROI, and to strengthen relationshipsand secure our market position as a leading provider of competitive business support products and services - to include but not be limited to: search, email, display, social media, print, PR and comms, content development, marketing automation.
  4. Lead the ongoing development and discoverability of products, services and projects, on B2B websites to include content management, SEO, user journey development, and analytics, and make recommendations to increase visits and engagement, and drive an upliftin enquiries and leads, working with the B2B Web Manager to support the delivery of web development activities.
  5. Engage, energise, support and grow B2B audiences across appropriate digital channels, through the creation and delivery of content strategies, social media plans, events schedules, and by harnessing the skills, knowledge and expertise of product, serviceand project experts and supporting businesses and partners as thought leaders, collaborators and key content contributors.
  6. Plan, deliver and measure, social media activities with the application of targeted social media tools that support industry engagement and growth.
  7. Develop a robust and credible B2B evidence base of case studies, testimonials, news stories, PR, and additional items that substantiate success and market position, using the most impactful and engaging formats and mediums to reach and build credibilitywith target audiences, stakeholders and partners.
  8. Development of marketing and communication activities and content around University expertise which may include support for events, projects and programmes that directly raise the profile of faculty and product, service and project expertise, working underthe brand guidance of marketing and communications and/or project owners where required.
  9. Identify award opportunities for B2B products, services and projects and co-develop entries with the support of the B2B Content & Communications Manager.
  10. Work closely with the B2B CRM team to ensure all marketing activity is driven by data intelligence, and all activities integrate fully with CRM via real-time data collection touchpoints, to strengthen opportunities to develop customer analysis and insightto support strategic decision making, marketing activities, and commercial growth.
  11. Manage the interface with external clients and University academics, experts and specialists, in relation to marketing activity, ensuring appropriate account management support is delivered such that expectations are managed and delivery levels meet suchexpectations.
  12. Maximise the legacy of external activities and projects to develop and raise the Universitys profile, ensuring case studies are written and communicated.
  13. Work with the Innovation, Enterprise and Employability (IEE) team, External Project Assurance, Central and Faculty Financial staff to ensure that all contract and financial procedures are followed.
Key Skills:
  • Experience of working in a B2B marketing team, preferably in a commercial business or organisation
  • Degree level, postgraduate or professional qualification in Marketing, Business or related subject is desirable
  • Experience of creating marketing plans to support strategic and commercial outcomes, is essential.
  • Proven track record of developing, delivering and measuring integrated end to end campaigns and marketing activities that generate enquiries and sales leads, and deliver a strong ROI
  • Experience of managing and growing digital and online communities
  • Ability to develop content plans and managing content generation activities
  • Experience and knowledge of managing Social Media channels and developing plans, content and activity that maximises engagement
  • Experience of creating marketing activity briefs and working with colleagues and/or agencies to manage the timely delivery of activities, with a proven track record of target achievement and strong ROI
  • Ability to manage multitask portfolios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to network and build relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight timescales
  • Excellent business, IT, presentation and administration skills.
